The Best Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients:

4 cups milk
1 ½ cups sugar
½ tsp. salt
4 cups whipping cream
2 T. vanilla extract

Directions:

Bring 2 cups of the milk to simmering point. Add sugar and salt and stir over low heat until dissolved. Remove from heat and add cream, vanilla, and remaining milk. Cool. Pour into freezer and freeze according to manufacturer’s directions. Makes 3 quarts.
