Salsa Verde

Ingredients

1 lb tomatillos (green tomatoes)
1 white onion
3 - 4 jalapenos
1 cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon sugar
1 Tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Unwrap and wash the tomatillos. Remove the outside skin on the onion and cut it in half. Turn your grill on to medium heat. Place the tomatillos, onion, and jalapenos on your grill. Turn the veggies several times to make sure they blacken all over. (You can also cook the veggies on your stove in a frying pan, but I like to use my grill.) Cook the vegetables until done. I like mine to be really black and burnt. Combine all items in blender and blend to desired smoothness. You can use more jalapenos if you like your salsa hot. You can also substitute serranos or bell peppers for a different flavor or mix it up with one of each! You can also put in some fresh cilantro if you want.
